A compact desk with storage built in.
JANUS TS is a compact glass desk with an integrated drawer. Its 93 × 45 cm top provides a small work area, with storage underneath for stationery and personal items. Only the upper part is lacquered on the inside; the long glass sides below remain clear.
Designed by Helmut Koppenhagen, the desk is 76 cm high and made from 15 mm glass with mitred joints. The coloured upper section brings the worktop and storage together. Choose Floatglas or Optiwhite for different edge colours and lacquer options. The Push/Pull mechanism opens the drawer without an applied handle.
We make your table in our workshop in Germany. We can also discuss your preferred dimensions, height and finish with you personally.
Just 45 cm deep
The shallow footprint suits a small writing area, laptop space or place for personal correspondence. At 93 cm wide, the desk is deliberately compact.
Storage beneath the top
The integrated drawer keeps everyday items within reach. Its internal width and depth are 82 × 32.5 cm.
Partially lacquered glass
Lacquer is applied inside the upper drawer section. The glass sides below remain transparent, an essential part of the design.

The 15 mm glass panels have mitred joints. Two full glass sides support the upper element without separate metal legs. Lacquer on the inside conceals the drawer section while keeping the outer glass smooth.
The wide drawer is integrated into the upper section and uses a Push/Pull mechanism. The closed front stays uncluttered. The sides continue the same material treatment: opaque colour above, clear glass below.
The difference is in the glass tint.
Floatglas has a distinctive green tint, particularly at its polished edges. Optiwhite looks more neutral across the surface, with a subtle pale turquoise tint at the clear edges. Both glass types remain transparent.
Glass thickness, tabletop size, lighting and surroundings all affect its appearance. A larger or deeper top can have darker-looking edges. A sample in the intended position helps you choose. The illustration offers a visual guide; the finishes available for JANUS TS are shown below.
Choose the materials for your room.
The glass sides beneath the drawer stay clear. These illustrations show Floatglas with Anthracite Grey and Optiwhite with Pure White in the internally lacquered upper section. The visible outer surfaces are glossy.

White and other light lacquer colours on glass use Optiwhite. Floatglas is available in the darker lacquer colours shown.
Your preferred shade.
We will discuss your preferred shade with you. Other available colours, for example from RAL, NCS or Sikkens, can be made at an additional charge.

Organisation in a small space.
At 93 × 45 × 76 cm, JANUS TS suits a narrow work area or writing nook. Its shallow top can hold a laptop and current papers, with smaller items in the drawer below. An internal width of 82 cm and depth of 32.5 cm help you plan the storage.
Leave room in front for the chair and to open the drawer. Consider the 76 cm height alongside your seating position and armrests. We can also make JANUS TS to measure, discussing dimensions and lacquer colour to suit your room and routines.
A writing space that feels at home.
Closed storage is useful when work and living share a room. The drawer holds smaller items so the top can stay clear. A coloured upper section defines the work area, while the transparent sides keep the floor and wall visible.
An occasional laptop space needs a different layout from a full desktop workstation. Start with your equipment and papers, then consider lighting and power sockets. We can help you fit either the compact standard size or a bespoke version into the room.

Our premium delivery service is free in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Liechtenstein.
The delivery team carries your table to its intended position, unpacks it, completes any required assembly and takes away the packaging. We arrange the delivery date with you. Customs clearance for Switzerland and Liechtenstein is also included.
