JANUS I is made entirely from 15 mm glass panels. Precise mitred joints connect horizontal shelves and vertical surfaces in an open, right-angled structure.
Helmut Koppenhagen’s design needs no additional metal frame. Its character comes from the glass thickness, open sides and the different tints of Floatglas and Optiwhite.
We can also make this open glass design to your preferred dimensions, tailoring JANUS I to the space beside your seat.
The staggered glass surfaces provide storage while leaving the space between them visible. Which shelf is easiest to reach also depends on the table’s orientation.
Floatglas has a greenish tint across its surface, more pronounced at the edges. Optiwhite is nearly neutral, with a subtle grey-turquoise tint along the edges.
The model can be used in two orientations. Consider which open side and which shelf will be easiest to reach from your seat.

Bevelled, polished glass edges and carefully chosen materials define the design. Select the glass type and finish to suit your interior.

Floatglas has a greenish tint, particularly visible along its bevelled and polished edges. Optiwhite looks more colour-neutral; its clear edges retain a subtle tint.
Material selection applies to the glass structure. Any other components retain the materials described for this model.
The clear glass surfaces remain transparent, smooth and glossy.

Measuring 40 × 40 × 50 cm, JANUS I provides a compact, angular surface beside a seat. Its open glass structure can stand in two orientations. Consider access to the shelves; bespoke dimensions are also available.
Position the open side towards your seat. JANUS I can also be turned to its second orientation, changing its dimensions to 50 × 40 × 40 cm.
Delivered to its intended place in your home. Our free premium delivery service applies to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Liechtenstein, subject to our delivery terms.
We carry your furniture to its intended position, unpack it, complete any necessary assembly and positioning, and take away the packaging. We arrange the delivery date with you.
The published customs clearance services for Switzerland and Liechtenstein are included. The current lead time is shown in the configurator. Please contact us for delivery to other countries or advice on particular access requirements.
