Start with the space you actually have

A small coffee table should leave you room to move and still be close enough to use. Measure the clear area between the seats, including footrests and the path you take through the room.

A 50 cm square, a small round top and a narrow rectangular table use that space differently. The examples below compare compact surfaces, a lower shelf and a table with only 40 cm depth.

QUADRO DOUBLE: a small square with a shelf

The 50 × 50 cm format provides a second level without expanding the tabletop footprint. Its standard height is 42 cm. Check the available space around the lower shelf as well as the top.

SLIDE: a round top from 50 cm

Choose a 50, 60 or 70 cm top. Height adjusts from 46 to 76 cm, so check the lowest position against a low sofa before choosing it for the centre of the seating area.

TRAY: narrow rather than square

The 97.5 × 40 × 43 cm format places length along the seating while using less depth. Removable trays and concealed castors give it a different function from a small single-top table.

A very small square or a small round top

QUADRO starts at 50 × 50 cm with a single glass top. QUADRO DOUBLE adds a lower shelf at the same minimum footprint. If a circle fits the room better, compare SLIDE at 50 or 60 cm and NEX at 65 cm.

Draw the outline on paper. Reach for an imaginary cup from the sofa, then stand up and walk past it. Check the support position too; the edge of the top is not the only part near your feet.

Looking for a narrow glass coffee table?

TRAY is 40 cm deep and is useful to compare when the problem is the gap between the sofa and the walkway. Its extra length may still reach beyond a short sofa, so measure both directions.

JANUS VII offers a low 76 × 60 × 32 cm format with a magazine compartment. A low table and a narrow table solve different problems; choose the feature the room needs.

Storage in a compact seating area

An extra shelf can keep the top clear, but the objects you put below it still need room. Think about books, remotes and the space for your feet before choosing a two-level table.

Clear glass leaves more of the rug and floor visible. It does not make the table physically smaller. For a recliner, test the layout with the footrest extended rather than relying on the normal sitting position.

Questions about small glass coffee tables

What is a small standard square size in the collection?

QUADRO and QUADRO DOUBLE offer 50 × 50 cm tops. Compare the heights and whether you need a lower shelf.

Is there a small round glass coffee table?

SLIDE starts at 50 cm diameter. MONDRIAN offers a 60 cm round version and NEX a 65 cm top, with different bases and heights.

Which coffee table is particularly narrow?

TRAY has a 97.5 × 40 cm standard footprint at 43 cm height. Its length still needs to fit the seating layout.

Can I ask for a smaller size?

A sketch of the sofa, walkway and available space is more useful than a room’s total floor area. Include the seat height and any footrest so we can compare the compact sizes accurately.
